Fashion has become its own colourful sport during the Spring Racing Carnival, with racegoers competing to make a good impression and of course share in the amazing prize pools offered by race clubs across Victoria.
Fashions on the field titles can be as hotly contested as the racing. Here's what lies ahead.
Each year over 30 country racing clubs host their own Fashions on the Field competitions. Due to its overwhelming success in the past two years, Country's Best Dressed Racegoer , will take place once again this year! The winner from each country racing club's Fashions on the Field will become a finalist to be crowned Country's Best Dressed Racegoer for 2009.
The good news is the general public decides who takes home this honour by voting online for their favourite finalist. The person with the most votes wins! With amazing prizes on offer, updated categories to enter and a brand new look, this year's MYER Fashions on the Field national event is sure to turn heads. For the first time, this year the event will be travelling to Tasmania to select a winner to represent the state of the Apple Isle. This year, the Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival is taking fashion to another level. Incorporating three major elements to the race days; The Classic.Style.Award is aimed at designers and fashion professionals, the Face of Caulfield competition along with the traditional Chadstone Fashion Stakes offer a prize pool valued at over $150,000 including luxury holidays, stylish Longines watches, prize money and lots more. Melbourne’s GPO Fashions on the Field at Moonee Valley is the place for each and every fashionista to reveal their unique style this Spring Carnival.
New in 2009 is the Moonee Valley Members’ Racewear category which has been created exclusively for Members only! Also new for 2009 is the Ladies Classic Racewear category, fashioned only for ladies of 40 years of age and over!
With the inclusion of four categories in 2009 there is now an occasion for every race goer to dress to impress!
